Terms of use
Effective October 26, 2026. These terms apply to GovBot Community Wildfire Risk at wildfirerisk.govbot.ai, operated by Ideation Lab, Corp.
Permitted use
Use this read-only service for public-record research. No sign-in or purchase is required. Respect rate limits and the published terms of the Forest Service services. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, disrupt the service or submit confidential information.
Source qualifications
Preserve the stated publisher, dataset, release, data-edit date and retrieval time when reusing results. Wildfire Risk to Communities and Wildfire Hazard Potential are products of modeling and carry error and uncertainty; the Forest Service publishes them to compare relative wildfire risk among communities nationally or within a state or county, and they do not replace locally calibrated assessments. Percentile ranks compare an area with other areas of the same type. Landscape conditions are as of 2020-2022.
Limits of the service
Results are not a wildfire risk rating of any home, parcel or building and are not an insurance, underwriting, building-code, land-use, safety or evacuation determination. The service contains no current fire, weather or fuel-moisture information; follow instructions from local officials and call 911 in an emergency. The service does not provide legal advice. Records are provided as available without a guarantee of completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular decision. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by the USDA Forest Service or any government agency. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
